What we learned in this first unit is that, teachers have a lot to do, and prepare for their class. How to do an assessment in a formal/informal way. Plus, we learned how to do a portfolio, which can also help us along the way of the students learning. To monitor what students have learned throughout the course and keeping evidence about what points the students need more reinforcement, so in that way we can help them with their development in learning the language.

What is a portfolio in Language learning?
Portfolio in Language Learning is a collection of the students work that they have gathered through all their language learning process. This can be all documented in a binder, that, eventually, will measure the students progress.
How does a portfolio contribute to the learning of a language?
It contributes with the progress the students have during a period of time. It shows what students can do on a variety of measures, plus, it is a source where it is documented the students educational background.
How do we assess a portfolio?
A portfolio is a type of assessment, in which the teacher needs to consider what items are going to be on it; also, depending on the teacher, students are asked to reflect on their work (self-assessment).

Assesment is a process the teacher applies to know the development of the students knowledge. Testing is a way for teachers to measure the students previous knowledge (or lack of thereof). Teaching is when the teacher provides the knowledge to the students.
